This will be mostly a private entry until I give the cake to Paul, so its a surprise.
I made TWO BATCHES of chocolate cake from scratch.
TWO BATCHES of chocolate buttercream frosting from scratch.
Did, like, 1358971 dishes during the course of the day.
Spent about $7 on it.
Spent about 9 hours on it.
Got cornstarch all over EVERYTHINGGGGGGG (I have pics I'll post later of the gigantic mess I made of the kitchen).
But it's done. It's falling down in the back/side and it's not as pretty as I hoped, but it looks like the weighted companion cube. And that's all that matters. I am EXHAUSTED.
I hope he likes it!
